Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to transform bilateral relationship into economic partnership and there are bright chances of growth in co-operation for mutual prosperity.
This he stated in a statement issued after the conclusion of two-day official visit to Kuwait.
The foreign minister expressed the confidence that issues related to visa restrictions and overseas Pakistanis will be resolved amicably.
He said the understanding reached during his meetings with the Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and other senior Kuwaiti leader.
The foreign minister said he highlighted problems of the Pakistani community in Kuwait regarding visa restrictions.
He said the Pakistan ambassador will hold a meeting with Kuwaiti authorities to sort out this issue at the earliest.
He said Kuwait has expressed the resolve to continue supporting Pakistan on regional and international fora on matters of common interest.
Meanwhile, addressing the Pakistani Community in Kuwait, the foreign minister said overseas Pakistanis are playing pivotal role to get Pakistan stand on its own foot.
He said the government of Pakistan is in contact with the Kuwaiti government to resolve problems being faced by Pakistanis in that country.
Qureshi also urged the Kuwaiti authorities to soften its visa policy for Pakistani community.
Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah assured the foreign minister that government of Kuwait will sympathetically look into the issue and will take serious steps to resolve it.
