Mohamed al-Mudahka, chairman of Qatar Chess Association, has been elected vice-president of the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) during its general assembly meeting held on the sidelines of the World Mind Sports Games 2019 held in Hengshui, China.

More than 200 players from 49 countries took part in the tournament, which also witnessed the World Chess Championship with the participation of the top-ranked players.

Al-Mudahka, who participated in the event as a representative of the International Chess Association where he works as the executive manager for international relations, has expressed his happiness on his election and thanked the executive office of the association for electing him for such an important position.

He was recently appointed a representative of the World Chess Federation at the International Universities Championship in 2020. He pointed out that this would certainly be considered as a big gain for Qatari chess and would reflect positively on the game in the near future.
