The State of Qatar has expressed satisfaction at the return of a Qatari boat that had been seized by the UAE authorities on April 30.
In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the boat was carrying out routine exercises in the Qatari territorial waters.
After facing a technical fault the boat drifted into UAE waters, where the UAE authorities seized the vessel and its crew.
The statement stressed that the State of Qatar has been working over the last few days through diplomatic channels and with the help of some friendly and sister countries to ensure that the crew members were safe and unharmed.
The Ministry's statement concluded by saying "the State of Qatar announces the return of the Qatari boat and crew members safely, and the State of Qatar thanks all those who helped to secure their return."
