The Criminal Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has arrested an African man on charges of committing fraud.
The accused attempted to dupe his victims by offering to convert Qatari riyals into dollars by treating them with chemicals, in exchange for a sum of QR200,000, the MoI tweeted on Saturday.
A search was conducted at his residence and a safe was found there with counterfeit notes along with some chemicals he had kept to carry out the fraud. The authorities concerned have urged the public to
be aware of such fraudulent methods that may mislead some people looking for quick financial gains.
