As part of the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan, Al Daayen Municipality's health control section has conducted an intensive inspection campaign on the food outlets and consumer goods complexes at its various parts.
There was a special focus on the restaurants, cafeterias, meat and fish shops and the fruit and vegetables sections to make sure that all the necessary food health and safety regulations are met.
The inspection covered the storage areas of food products and their transportation and handling processes to ensure that the workers and companies concerned are following the relevant rules. In addition, food samples were taken for laboratory tests to check their validity for human consumption.
In the meantime, Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment's (MME) Islands and Beaches Section has conducted a cleaning campaign at Al Thakhira Corniche and surrounding areas.
Further, Al Khor Harbour was completely cleaned as part of a comprehensive plan to maintain the marine environment in the country.
