Hamad International Airport (HIA) has held an employee appreciation event to celebrate its staff’s hard work and recognise the employees’ contributions to the successful growth journey of the 'world’s fastest growing airport' recognised for having the 'Best Airport Staff in Middle East' by Skytrax 2019.
As part of the fun-filled occasion, HIA’s Bus Pavilion Garden hosted food trucks offering Doha’s famous street food and entertainment. Cupcake and khanfaroush bake-off competitions brought excitement and engagement among the staff members, and winners were nominated by executive chefs along with volunteers from the HIA staff, a press statement noted.

Abdulaziz al-Mass, vice-president of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Hamad International Airport, said: “At HIA, we strongly believe in our organisational capabilities. We would not be here today without our talented people who place the well-being of passengers and staff first and epitomise our culture of excellence and experiences.”
HIA’s core organisational values "highlight the role of people as the main drivers of the airport success, which is reflected through every aspect of HIA’s corporate values and initiatives", the statement points out.
"Qatar’s young and ambitious airport excels in harnessing the power of teamwork to achieve the common shared customer-centric vision," it adds.
Just prior to the celebrations, HIA retained its top position as the best airport in the Middle East for the fifth consecutive year and was ranked the fourth best airport in the world at the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2019. HIA’s fast-paced growth journey will reach its 5-year anniversary in May.
