Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) organised on Sunday the 3rd Kahramaa Forum for Creativity and Innovation under the slogan “towards a creative challenge” at Kahramaa Awareness Park on the occasion of the World Creativity and Innovation Day with the participation of a number of officials, decision-makers and innovators.
President of Kahramaa Essa bin Hilal al-Kuwari said that the organisation of the 2019 forum for creativity and innovation coincides with the World Creativity and Innovation Day, which falls on 21 April each year, in the framework of supporting and encouraging the innovation of the corporation staff.
Al-Kuwari pointed out that the most prominent feature of this year is the launch of new horizons of partnerships in this field. He explained that the Qatar Scientific Club participated in the forum. He added that as part of Kahramaa’s social responsibility, the corporation honoured the participants and students, who showcased their scientific inventions.
The new innovations reflect the success of strong educational outputs and the state’s interest in creativity and innovation. Some 30 schools participated in high-level inventions and research, as well as by the inventors at the parallel exhibition, who have won international awards, he added.
Al-Kuwari said that Kahramaa’s innovation incubator is dedicated to monitoring inventions and creative ideas from students and inventors in Qatar and developing and supporting them in scientific research.
He lauded the prominent inventions that drew his attention, the most important of which was the medical blazer to predict health crises before they occur, to serve the students of autism or chronic diseases, in addition to the gas sensor for security and safety in homes and places, which works to detect the diversion of gas in a safe manner to prevent the exposure of people at risk.
Hareb al-Jabri, Executive Director, Qatar Scientific Club, said that the club was keen to participate in the events of Kahramaa for creativity and innovation coincided with the World Creativity and Innovation Day. - QNA
