The Indian embassy in Qatar has announced that online application forms for passport services have been revised and online applications for Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) and Emergency Certificates (ECs) have also been introduced.

Accordingly, the embassy has said it will accept passport/PCC/EC applications in the old format only until April 25.

“Thereafter, applicants are requested to apply for these services online in the new format only,” the embassy informed through a notification posted on its social media pages on Monday evening.

The changes have been introduced as the passport issuance system at the embassy is being integrated with the Passport Seva Project for passport/PCC/EC services, the notification states.

The link for the correct format of the new forms is https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in.

After visiting the website and clicking on ‘Qatar’, one has to create a User ID by clicking on the ‘Register’ link.

The applicant has to then log in with the registered ID and password on the ‘User Login’ link.

Then, on the Applicant Home Page, one has to click on the ‘Apply for Ordinary Passport/Emergency Certificate/Police Clearance Certificate/Surrender of Indian Passport/Diplomatic Passport/Official Passport’ link to file a new application.

After successful submission, one has to take a printout of the online submitted form. The applicant has to then visit the embassy along with the required supporting documents.

In an earlier notification on its website, the embassy had said the Global Passport Seva Programme has been rolled out in Qatar as part of worldwide implementation of the Passport Seva Project. Members of the Indian community in Qatar were advised to use the new portal, https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in, to avail of passport services with effect from April 19.
