The Advisory Council held on Monday its regular weekly session under the chairmanship of HE Deputy Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Sulaiti.
At the outset of the meeting, the Advisory Council welcomed Their Excellencies heads of parliaments and national, legislative and federal councils, national assemblies, parliamentarians, elders and heads of the delegation of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, who are convening in Doha currently within the framework of the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and its associated meetings.
The Advisory Council expressed its pride in hosting in the State of Qatar this important international historic event, which reaffirms the prominent position of the State of Qatar and its effective and influential role in regional and international arenas under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The Advisory Council expressed the hope that the meetings of the 140th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union would be a success and come out with results that contribute to realising the ambitions and aspirations of the people of the world for peace, development and progress.
The Advisory Council then discussed a draft law regulating the auditing profession.
The draft law, which includes (57) articles, defines the records of the auditors, the conditions and procedures of registration in the records, the rights and duties of the auditors, the disciplinary responsibility of the auditors and the violations and penalties to be imposed on violators.
The Council decided to refer the draft law to the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee to study and submit a report thereon to the Council.
The Advisory Council also discussed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No (15) of 2010 on the prohibition of workers' gatherings within the residential areas of families.
The Council decided to refer it to the Services and Public Utilities Committee to study and report thereon to the Council.
