Qatar Nanny Training Academy (QNTA), a member of Qatar Foundation, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Qatar manpower solutions company Wisa.
As part of the agreement, QNTA will provide intensive and varied workshops for female trainees nominated by Wisa – run in conjunction with QNTA’s core programme – in English and in Arabic. The training will take place over the course of three years.
The MoU was signed by Hessa al-Mansouri, general director of QNTA, and Hussain Ali al-Hababi, CEO of Wisa, in the presence of a number of officials and directors from both entities.
Al- Mansouri said that the co-operation is a step towards providing more services to the community by training more nannies. “In recent years, the academy has attracted Muslim students from several countries who speak Arabic, and trained them over an academic year, through a comprehensive and balanced education programme,” she said, adding, “The focus of the programme is on the development of the physical, social, and linguistic skills, as well as on inculcating Islamic values in the life of the Qatari child.”
Al-Hababi said, "This agreement comes within the framework of the company's commitment to providing qualified labour, and one of its main objectives towards the training of nannies.
“In addition, this agreement marks the beginning of the desired cooperation between the two entities. We are keen to train and qualify individuals in basic skills according to the selected specialization, as well as guide and enhance skills in occupational health and safety, education, and awareness of the values and teachings of society.”
The MoU will achieve a series of strategic objectives focusing on providing a safe environment for children in their early stages, especially for children of working mothers who leave their children at home.
