The head of the African Parliamentary Union (APU) and President of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso Alassane Bala Sakande has expressed appreciation of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for his prominent role in serving regional and international issues, as well as for the support of joint parliamentary work.
This came in a joint statement at the conclusion of a six-day work visit by Sakande following an invitation from HE the Speaker of Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
The joint statement also said that the visit was in the framework of friendship and co-operation ties between the Advisory Council and the APU, and a reflection of the two sides’ strong interest in enhancing cultural, economic, social, and political ties between the State of Qatar and African countries.
The two sides also stressed on the strength of ties between the State of Qatar and Burkina Faso and with African countries in general, something that enhances security and stability in the region and the world. — QNA
