The first Qatar International Cosmetology Conference (QICC) opened in Doha yesterday. The three-day event was inaugurated by Sheikh Mansour bin Jabor al-Thani at Marsa Malaz Kempinski.
Welcoming international speakers as well as Doha-based doctors to the conference, Sheikh Mansour pointed out that ‘Qatar National Vision 2030 focuses on developing and improving the expertise and knowledge of the physicians in Qatar’.
The conference programme covers all areas of aesthetic medicine and particularly focusing on review of the state-of-the-art advances in aesthetic and regenerative medicine including use of office tumescent and local anaesthesia techniques.
Lectures include use of fillers, lasers and PRP, facial ageing and facial aesthetics, trichology, body enhancement, liposuction, cosmetic gynaecology and establishing and operating an aesthetic clinic.
It is planned that the QICC will become an annual event and the biggest and most prominent conference of its kind in the region.
Scientific Planning Committee chair Dr Ayman El Attar, who has many years’ experience of teaching on an international stage, thanked Sheikh Mansour, saying: “Doha is a region that welcomes innovation and advancement in healthcare. We hope the delegates experience at the first Qatar International Cosmetology Conference will be an outstanding one.” 
Dr Mohamed Ayyad, CEO of Blue Health Consultancy Services, the event organisers, highlighted the contribution of the private medical sector in the development of clinical practice and support of doctors and practitioners in all disciplines.
