Thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in some areas on Tuesday, the Qatar Met department has said.

Offshore areas, too, are likely to see thundery rain on Tuesday along with windy conditions and high seas, according to the weather office.

The wind speed may go up to 36 knots at times offshore and 30 knots inshore, while the sea level may rise to 13ft.

The detailed forecast for Tuesday says it will be cloudy in inshore areas and there is a chance of scattered rain, which may become thundery at times, while slight dust is also expected in some places. It will be cold by night.

Cloudy conditions will prevail offshore and there could be scattered rain in those areas, which may turn at times.

The minimum temperature on Tuesday is expected to be 21C in Doha, Al Khor and other places, while the maximum will be 34C in Abu Samra, 32C in Dukhan and 28C in Doha.

Monday, the minimum temperature was 22C in Wakrah, Al Khor, Dukhan and other places, while in Doha it was 23C. The maximum was 35C in Abu Samra and 29C in Doha.

The Met department had earlier said unsettled weather and rain are expected in the country until Wednesday due to the extension of a low-pressure system over the region.

Parts of the country received some rain on Monday and dusty conditions were also reported.
