A group of female students from the Audio Education Complex paid an educational visit to QIIB headquarters, at which they were briefed on various aspects related to Islamic banking and services provided by banks in general.
QIIB chief executive officer Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad al-Shaibei met the students and briefed them about QIIB since its establishment in 1991 and its various stages of development up to now, when it is one of leading banks in Qatar.
The meeting was also attended by Ali Hamad al-Mesaifari, QIIB Head (Human Resources and Administrative Affairs) and Omar Abdul Aziz al-Meer, Head (Business Development).
The QIIB CEO expressed his “great appreciation for the important role played” by the Audio Education Complex in serving this segment of the society and helping them acquire the necessary skills in order to engage in the society and the labour market based on the skills they acquire from the centre.
He said that QIIB places social responsibility at the top of its priorities and provides support to education through many means, including practical visits for school students, training to school and university students at the bank and support to many other nation building projects and community enrichment events.
During the students’ visit, an interactive session was held with QIIB officials, during which they discussed the functioning of a bank, knowledge that the female students acquire from the Audio Education Complex, the importance of practical and theoretical knowledge as well as the possible career paths for students.
The discussion also dealt with banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular, the path that students must follow to become bankers, as well as the experiences and qualifications a person needs to secure a bank job.
The female students had a tour of the Banking Hall at the QIIB main building and listened to a detailed presentation from the branch’s manager, Maher Kayali, of the services provided by QIIB.
The students also visited QIIB’s IT department and later they expressed interest in the techniques used by the department.
