A two-day workshop titled ‘Change Management, Influencing & Negotiation’ organised by the Qatar Stars League (QSL) in partnership with Josoor Institute began yesterday at Aspire Zone. The workshop was attended by Hani Taleb Ballan, CEO of QSL, Ahmed Khellil Abbassi, Executive Director of Competitions & Football Development (Acting) at QSL, and Executives of first and second division clubs.
Ballan welcomed the participants and wished them a productive workshop, which is held in line with the QSL’s keenness to reach out to all parties and discuss the best ways and means in order to achieve excellence at all levels, be it sports, technical or administrative. The workshop is designed to break barriers and encourage team members from all parts of the business to communicate and work together in a better way towards achieving a win-win situation. It also focuses on the need for organisations to keep pace with changes in the environment in which they operate.
Effective communication, influencing and negotiation skills are also in the spotlight at the workshop. Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the Scottish Professional Football League, is a speaker at the sessions.
He is a qualified solicitor who has been involved with the football industry in a series of senior roles for the last 21 years.
He also currently holds the positions of Scottish Football Association Non-Executive Director and Liverpool University Management School Executive in Residence.
Abbassi said: “We’re here to support our clubs towards achieving their goals and be among the best Leagues in Asia, and we must all evolve ourselves to fulfil our ambitions and expectations.”
