Featuring a wide variety of animals, livestock and poultry, the Mini Zoo and Veterinary Products Area (VeteQ) have grabbed the limelight at the AgriteQ exhibition that opened at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre Tuesday.
On the inaugural day of the seventh edition of the agricultural exhibition, visitors thronged to take a look at livestock and wild animals. “Love for animals and livestock draw them towards the stalls here,” said Ahmed al-Abdulla who runs Al Nukhba farm. Ahmed has brought to the event various breeds of goats, hens, rabbits and pigeons from across the world.
VeteQ focuses on veterinary health, latest technologies in veterinary sector, and products for poultry and livestock. The area has many varieties of hens, rabbits, goats and pigeons on display. Apart from local breeds, poultry, pets and livestock include varieties from Holland, Belgium, France, Germany and Oman. Farmers have brought chicks and eggs for sale.
Techniques of hatching and livestock growing are also on show at VeteQ. Al-Abdulla said VeteQ was receiving good response from visitors. “In fact, AgriteQ is an ideal venue for farmers to introduce their initiatives. It lends an opportunity to farmers and entrepreneurs to get customers. Besides, it will help more entrepreneurs try a hand with innovation in farming and livestock growing,” he added.
Various sessions at AgriteQ provide farmers and visitors with opportunity to interact with experts.
