Meanwhile, Qatar's ambassador to Ethiopia Hamad bin Mohamed al-Dosari stressed that the official visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister to Doha came within the framework of promoting and strengthening bilateral relations and co-operation between the two countries.
In statements to QNA, al-Dosari said the talks covered key issues of mutual concern, mainly with regard to co-operation and co-ordination to achieve stability and ensure peace and security in the Horn of Africa, as well as combating terrorism in all its manifestations.
Al-Dosari highlighted the keenness of Dr Ali to build strong relations with friendly and sisterly countries, including co-operation in the political and economic fields, which is consistent with the vision of Qatar, especially in view of the serious political volatility of the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.
He also noted that the Ethiopian government's focus on attracting foreign investments and promoting the role of the private sector open up new horizons of co-operation between the two countries. There is no doubt this visit will elevate Qatari-Ethiopian relations to the highest levels, he said.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister's visit represents a new qualitative leap forward in relations between the two countries as well as bilateral and reciprocal visits at the level of senior dignitaries and officials of the two countries, notably the visit of His Highness the Amir to Ethiopia in April 2017, QNA said.
Besides, the visit will provide new support to co-operation between the two friendly countries, and open up more investment opportunities for mutual benefit, it added.
