Under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani inaugurated on Tuesday the seventh edition of Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ2019) and the First International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ) at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of Their Excellencies Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar, and the specialized companies participating in the exhibition from inside and outside Qatar and guests of the country.
A welcome speech and an explanation of the exhibitors was presented by HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Subaie during the opening ceremony. A visual presentation of the development and strategies related to the two areas according to the National Vision 2030 was also presented.
Later, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior toured various sections and pavilions of the exhibition, during which he learned about the latest technologies and equipment used in agricultural and environmental fields.
HE the Prime Minister also inaugurated a project to plant one million trees in the pavilion of Ministry of Municipality and Environment, the launch of Mahaseel website and opening the registration for all state farmers to obtain marketing and agricultural services. HE also witnessed a presentation about the Hassad company and its services.
A total of 450 local and international companies from 49 countries around the world are taking part in the exhibition this year. (QNA)
