*Programme featuring World Cup 2022-themed lessons for students

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to launch Tamreen, an online educational programme featuring FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022-themed lessons.
The MoU was signed by Nasser al-Khater, CEO of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and Fawziya al-Khater, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The programme is targeted at students aged 8-18 and will help them develop skills in core curriculum areas, including mathematics, science, geography, art, Arabic, English and citizenship, while also gaining an understanding of the SC's development goals and the lasting legacy of Qatar 2022.
Speaking after the signing, Nasser al-Khater said: "It gives us great pride at the Supreme Committee to sign this agreement which aims to excite students across Qatar about ongoing preparations to host the FIFA World Cup and the uniqueness of Qatar's tournament.
"Involving young people in Qatar's World Cup will ensure both a successful and well-attended tournament in 2022 while delivering a lasting legacy for the country and region. Our collaboration with the ministry will ensure Tamreen benefits as many schools as possible as we aim to inspire Qatar's future leaders using the power of the World Cup."
Fawziya al-Khater said: "It gives us great pleasure to launch this collaboration with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy. I hope that Tamreen will be the first of many partnerships with the SC that seek to fulfil the goals of our organisations."
She continued: "We want to ensure that the programme's educational and training material will benefit the largest portion of members in academia, including students and teachers. The launch of Tamreen would not have been possible without the efforts of members at the ministry's Curriculum Management Administration, the Department of School Affairs, Department of Educational Guidance, Department of Private Schools Affairs, Centre of Training and Development, and of course coordination with the program's organisers at the SC. We will target all our efforts to ensure the success of Tamreen and to fulfil its objectives at governmental and private schools across Qatar."
Launched on March 3, the Tamreen website offers teachers a complete toolkit, including guidance notes, information sheets, presentations, worksheets, and quizzes.
The toolkits can be used together to form a comprehensive, in-depth look at Qatar 2022, or individually to highlight certain initiatives or areas of the curriculum giving teachers, youth group co-ordinators or parents the maximum freedom when it comes to teaching.
During the first phase of the launch, the SC and the ministry will conduct workshops with governmental and international schools to test the materials and gather feedback from teachers and students.
More than 1,000 students and 25 governmental and private schools will take part in the first phase.
