Announcing its annual photography competition, Hyatt Plaza Mall has said both amateur and professional photographers from among Qatar residents can enter the contest until April 15. Each candidate can submit his/her photographs online or physically.
Mohamed al-Hawamdeh, head of Marketing at Hyatt Plaza Mall, said: “The competition will encourage photography lovers to get creative and showcase their talent through the contest.”
The submitted photographs will be reviewed by a panel of judges from Hyatt Plaza Mall and Youth Hobbies Centre, which will select the top 100 images that will be exhibited inside the mall for 10 days from April 25. Also, 10 winners will be honoured at a ceremony, and they will receive cameras as gifts as well as an exclusive Hyatt Plaza VIP Card, according to al-Hawamdeh.
The official said the response to the opening of submissions for the photo contest has been “tremendous”. “We are amazed by the innovation in some of the entries, and are confident the participants will surprise us in this contest as there is no better way to tell a story than through a lens,” he added.
The photo contest, he noted, gives Hyatt Plaza Mall “a great opportunity to engage the Qatar community in such an activity that makes the mall a responsible corporate citizen”. Hyatt Plaza Mall “always upholds and actively participates in creative projects as well as artistically enhancing programmes”.
The 2019 photography contest at Hyatt Plaza Mall is open to all participants aged 12 years and above. Images should be in accordance with the rules and regulations published on the contest website - www.captureqatarcontest.com
The winners will be announced on May 4.
