The five-day 6th Qatar International Boat Show, the only annual  premier boat show in Qatar, wrapped up yesterday evening at the Marina Pearl-Qatar on a high note with a promise to offer more next year.
“It’s a promising market, we will be coming back next year,” said Holger Kahl, managing director of Nobiskrug, the Germany-based marine industry giant for over 110 years. Nobiskrug Group participated in the Doha show for the first time this year.
Kahl said it was a fantastically organised show and the location was very nice , “with all the facilities around.” He hoped that the show would grow further in the coming years.  Zeeshan Raziq of ZG Traders from Pakistan lauded the organisational skills for the show, and the venue. He said he will be coming back next year.
A participant from Turkey said it was the first time for his company to take part in the Qatar show but was impressed by the overall success of the event. “We were here to explore the market and so far it was good,” he opined.
“Turkey and Qatar are friendly countries and as a company based in Turkey, we are interested in joint ventures with Qatari investors,” he said.
“But, yes, at the end of the day it’s all about selling boats,” a spokesman for the organisers said. Quoting Simpson of Simpson Marine, he said “there won’t be any announcements until the paper work is done and the ink is dry.”

Rashid al-Madadi, managing director of Doha Craft, presented the keys of the Doha-manufactured boat to Lt Col Abdulaziz al-Mohannadi, acting head of the Coast Guard, Ministry of Interior.
