Qatar University’s Colleges of Education (QU-CEDU) and College of Engineering (QU-CENG) is organising a conference on “Education and Instructional Technology Conference: Challenges and Opportunities”.
The conference will be held under the theme, “Technology for Quality of Education” on 16 and 17 March 2019 at Ibn Khaldun Hall.
The conference aims to identify the latest systems, models and applications of technology in the field of education locally, regionally and globally.
In addition, it aims to provide a platform for exchange of research, scientific and excellent experiences of researchers and specialists in the field of education technology and education.
QU-CEDU is keen to employ the latest practices and theories and disseminate the research results to provide innovative solutions that achieve ambition and aspire to the future.
The main topic of the conference is the application of technology in the educational field.
Other topics include, engineering and education, assistive technology, technology, educational assessment and e-learning environments.
Dean of College of Education Dr Ahmed al-Emadi said: “The conference is an effective platform to exchange experiences, promote outstanding practices, achieve a distinguished partnership with the community and introduce the efforts made.”
“This year in partnership is with the QU-CENG, which is one of the colleges known for its leading role in supporting school students and linking technology to the lives of students.
The College of Education is keen to implement qualitative partnerships with institutions inside and outside Qatar such as the University of South Australia”, he added.
CENG Dean Professor Abdul Majid Hammuda said, “This conference aims to pave the way towards a better understanding of the technology of education, and this conference and the papers presented therein are of scientific interest to Qatar University. It also works toward developing research and studies in partnership with many stakeholders in the education technology sectors to shape the future of this field. The need for this type of conferences is vital in the time of information and technological revolution, knowledge and technology in various fields, especially the scientific and engineering field, hence the participation of the Faculty of Engineering in organising this conference”.
Assistant Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at the College and the General Rapporteur of the Conference Professor Ahmed Megreya stressed that this conference has many important theoretical and practical applications.
For example, the conference aims to develop and enhance joint research among researchers in the fields of education and information technology in order to improve the quality of teaching through the use of appropriate and effective electronic programmes, thus contributing to the development of education and achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030.
