Working with the Power of Intentions

Before every action there is an inspiration behind it. Most actions begin with a ‘soul spark’ of a feeling that becomes realised, whether it is making tea, calling a friend or booking a trip around the Earth. The ‘energy that creates world’ is constantly coming through us. Intentions are your way of harnessing this power to proactively guide it towards attracting what you desire in life. Intentions are the seeds of your destiny, the dawn of your creations that take root in your life and flower as your reality. Consider intentions to be thoughts with wings that set energy into motion and form your experience.
“Our mind is a garden, our thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds.” Due apologies with the liberties taken from Ritu Ghatourey’s quote. But, for all living organisms, intention, or ‘future pull’, is coded into its DNA, for instance, the seed that intends to grow into a tree. As humans, we can supercharge our intent as a tool for manifesting. Awareness, as usual, is key in working with this force. What seeds do you plant in your mind each moment of each day? Do them stem from positive or negative, from love or from fear, are they supportive or weighed down by doubts? Play the gatekeeper of your mind for a day. Get into a habit of seeing everything that you plant or allow to get planted in your mind’s garden. Pay attention to how things grow, bloom and express themselves in your life. We will work deeper in this area later on, but cultivating a practice of observing and catching your own thoughts now will serve you well.

To up the ante, when thinking or speaking of what you desire, imagine these scenarios already here and happening, in present tense. Feel them now. Pull back and think in general, not specifics. What do you want ultimately? How good does it feel like to have what you want? What are the qualities of it that you desire so much? Stay in this high as long as you can. Whatever you may want, feel yourself there, doing it, living it, being it, it happening to you and through you. Only feel how good it feels, no resistance or no fears about what it means when it comes.
Think about a few areas of life that you are seeking clarity, forward movement or uplift, such as self-love, healing, health, career, relationships or passions/creativity.
Write or record three solid intentions to bring in the guidance, changes and healing that you are calling into your life today, in this very moment. Free your mind and use lots of beautiful, feel-y, fluffy adjectives. After writing, declare them out-loud, especially if you don’t quite believe them yet. Speak them over and over until the shakiness disappears and you begin to believe your own confidence.
Presence + Positivity = Strong Intention Setting
Reword ‘I will/wish’ to ‘I am’
From ‘I want’ to ‘I have’
From ‘It would/could/should be...’ to ‘It is’.
Here are a few general examples of intentions using present and positive language. Notice how some include reasons why, which also can help amplify their effect:

1- I am open to all of the positive opportunities and changes that this work brings into my life, because I know how good it feels when all my blocks are clear and life is flowing for me!
2- I am living and feeling more happy, healthy, wealthy and free than ever before, and therefore attracting more greatness around me than ever before!
3- I witness the marvellous impact that radiating my joy and shine fearlessly have in my experience and in the world around me.
4- I allow in effortless ease, love, kindness and abundance, because I deserve to live my best life.
5- Solutions are everywhere, and I already have everything I need. I know things are always happening for me, and I surrender to the flow of the connection.
6- I am living every day in the highest form of my truth, therefor everything divine and good is being attracted to and through me.
7- I make good use of my time, live life to the fullest, and say YES to all the great opportunities along the way, and it feels incredible!
8- It feels so good to shed my layers and become more authentically me.
As best as you can, for at least the next two weeks, as soon as you wake up, confidently write or record 1-3 positively aligned intention(s) per day. You can keep it confined to your own journal, team up with a momentum buddy, or share your intention challenge with the world on social media.
