The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has extended assistance worth QR13.9mn in February 2019 to the beneficiaries of the registered families.
The fund of QR13,950,829 in February 2019 included periodic assistance, tuition fees and treatment for 20,000 registered family beneficiaries in accordance with the Shariah regulations.
The administration of the Zakat Fund is entrusted to collect Zakat Funds and to distribute it to those who meet the requirements of the Shariah regulations.
QR10,825,601 was provided as periodic assistance monthly to eligible families.
QR1,539,619 was provided as one-time assistance to eligible families.
Zakat Fund spent QR1,150,055 on students enrolled in various stages of education and QR385,554 to help families who are eligible for treatment and QR50,000 on miscellaneous aid.
