Vodafone Qatar has announced that it has completed the rollout of its GigaNet fibre network across The Pearl-Qatar island with customers already enjoying a number of Vodafone services.

Vodafone Qatar’s fibre network enables the island’s residents to experience premium services through its high-speed Internet and high-quality fixed voice.

Vodafone will soon be also offering customers entertainment and smart home services, the company has said in a statement.

For businesses, Vodafone Qatar’s fibre enables a large suite of business services, including smart solutions, smart security and smart metering.

These technologies will help organisations operating at The Pearl-Qatar "optimise, automate and innovate".

In April 2018, Vodafone Qatar and United Development Company, the island’s master developer, signed an agreement that would "see The Pearl-Qatar benefit from Vodafone Qatar’s world-class telecommunications infrastructure, including superior mobile coverage and a high-speed fibre technology network, capable of handling speeds of up to 1Gbps".

More than 27,000 of The Pearl-Qatar’s current residents and 700 businesses will benefit from Vodafone Qatar’s high-speed fibre network, the statement notes.

As a unique and innovative urban development in Doha spanning over 4mn sqm of land, The Pearl-Qatar island offers its residents and visitors the "ultimate luxury and lifestyle experience in addition to being a preferred investment destination for residential, commercial and retail/business investors".

The Pearl-Qatar also plays host to the latest retail and hospitality offerings from the world's leading brands and restaurants.
