The Tunisian-Qatari Supreme Joint Committee held its seventh session, chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, in the Tunisian capital Tunis Saturday.
At the beginning of the meeting, Tunisian Prime Minister welcomed the Qatari Prime Minister, stressing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and the prospects for enhancing them.
HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser thanked his Tunisian counterpart for their hospitality, praising the strength of bilateral relations and highlighted the potential for increasing bilateral cooperation to advance the common interests of both countries and peoples.
The meeting was attended by their excellencies members of the delegation accompanying the prime minister. On the Tunisian side, it was attended by a number of ministers.
HE the Prime Minister and the Tunisian prime minister also witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding.











They witnessed the signing of the first executive programme of the co-operation agreement between the governments of Qatar and Tunisia in youth and sports for 2019-2020, a third executive programme for the cultural and technical agreement between the governments of the two countries for the years 2019-2021, co-operation agreement in maritime transport, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Tunisian Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Qatar for co-operation inmaritime and commercial ports, a memorandum of understanding for the mutual recognition of certification for maritime seafarers, and an agreement on air services between the governments of Qatar and Tunisia.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed for co-operation in the areas of industrialisation, renovation, innovation and technological development, in addition to a memorandum of understanding on twinning the municipalities of Tunis and Doha. The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism and business events between the governments of Qatar and Tunisia, in addition to the minutes of the seventh meeting of the supreme joint committee.
The signings were attended by members of the accompanying delegation and Tunisian ministers.
HE the Prime Minister met at his residence in Tunisia with Tunisia's Minister of Interior Hichem Fourati.
The meeting focused on reviewing ways to enhance bilateral co-operation, particularly in the security field, in addition to discussing a number of issues of joint interest.
HE the Prime Minister also met at his residence in Tunisia with Tunisian Defence Minister Abdelkarim Zebidi.
The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral relations and the means to enhance them. 
HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser attended a luncheon banquet held by the Tunisian prime minister at Sidi Bou Said in Tunis.
The luncheon banquet was attended by a number of ministers and ranking Tunisia officials.
