Qatar has announced that it is monitoring the developments in India and Pakistan with great concern and called on all parties to exercise restraint and to give voice to wisdom.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the calls made by officials in both countries, stressing that they did not want further escalation.
The statement called for efforts to resolve the existing dispute through diplomatic and political channels and non-escalation.
"Both countries have great weight and influence in their surroundings. Therefore, the State of Qatar wishes the governments of the two countries to shoulder their responsibility as great powers to safeguard regional and international peace and security and the interests of both peoples," the statement added.
