Ooredoo Myanmar, the leading telecom service provider in Myanmar, announced yesterday that its active customer base in Myanmar has surpassed 10mn as of February 14 this year.
Ooredoo launched its 3G services in August 2014 as the first international operator after Myanmar opened up its telecommunications industry. Ooredoo now covers 92% of country’s population with its network.
Ooredoo is committed to and has been at the forefront of bringing in latest technologies with innovative products and services in digitalisation of Myanmar, according to a 
statement. 
In May 2016, Ooredoo Myanmar became the first operator to launch 4G Plus technology in the country. According to the results from tests taken using Speedtest by Ookla, Ooredoo’s 4G network, now present in more than 300 townships, is recognised as Myanmar’s fastest mobile network with the lowest latency during Q2-Q3 2018. 
Some of digital initiatives of Ooredoo for a wide range of end users are Swel Sone 456- digital entertainment and information services such as weather, crops price, horoscopes focusing on rural customers, Myanmar’s first Chatbot – Ooredoo Next, My Ooredoo App with more efficient with personalised offers and digital entertainments, Ooredoo VIP-the loyalty programme with reward and discounts, M-Pitesan with more user friendly and easier to access all mobile payment services, the first IoT services in Myanmar focusing on Public Services, Health and Safety, Agriculture Solution and Transportation, Dealer App for Ooredoo Trader Partner and Sales Force App for internal sale team members.
Ooredoo also supports empowering women to become entrepreneurs by opening Ooredoo Kiosks in rural areas where those women utilise Sale Force App to do business 
transitions.
