The flight's diversion to Khartoum was preventive and routine action, it said in a statement. The Qatar Airways flight QR1409 to Lagos had a minor technical malfunction on Thursday. As a result, it was diverted to Khartoum and the plane landed safely. Qatar Airways has stressed that passenger safety is its top priority.
