Private sector leader Qatar Chamber held meetings with trade delegations from Italy and India yesterday as part of efforts to explore investment opportunities with the international community.
Qatar Chamber assistant director-general for Government Relations and Committee Affairs Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri met with an Italian delegation led by Dr Andrea Vincenzoni, as well as the Italian embassy’s deputy head of mission, Carlotta Colli.
The meeting touched on co-operation relations between Qatar and Italy and ways of enhancing them, as well as preparations for the setting-up of an education centre for learning the Italian language in Qatar. The centre will play a role in “in bringing together Qatari and Italian companies, which would lead to forging joint enterprises.”
The opening of an Italian education centre in Qatar “would deepen relations” between both the countries, al-Mansouri said. Al-Mansouri also said both the countries’ economic and trade relations have significantly developed over the past few years, adding that Qatari investments in Italy “have also seen remarkable growth.”
Vincenzoni said the plan to establish an Italian language centre in Qatar “stemmed from the distinguished relations that linked both the countries.” He said it would serve Qatari companies and strengthen communication between both the sides.
Al-Mansouri also met with the Indian embassy commercial representative Surinder Bhgat and Anmol Modi, the senior head of promotion for the Vibrant Terry Towel Global Expo & Summit 2019.
The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation relations between both the sides.
The Indian delegation invited Qatari companies to participate in the expo, which is scheduled from September 25 to 27 in Solapur, India.
The expo will showcase large varieties of high-quality towels with latest technologies in the sector. It aims to provide a unique platform where manufacturers and buyers can interact directly and provide information on the various types of towels and related product markets, while establishing direct networking opportunities with domestic and international markets.
“Qatar Chamber is interested to encourage businessmen to participate in trade and industrial exhibitions that help exchange expertise and help establish partnerships and commercials transactions,” al-Mansouri added.
