The Advisory Council held its regular weekly meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of HE the Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
The meeting started with a discussion the report of the Public Services and Utilities Committee regarding a draft law on reconciliation of the crimes stipulated in some provisions of the laws relating to the municipality and the environment.
After the discussion, the Council approved the amended draft law and decided to refer its recommendations to the government.
During the meeting, the Advisory Council was also briefed on the report of its delegation which participated in the meetings of the Nato Parliamentary Assembly in Halifax, Canada.
HE al-Mahmoud briefed the members on his meeting on Sunday with a delegation of senior officials from the US Congress, during which they discussed parliamentary relations between the Advisory Council and US Congress and ways to develop them, in addition to topics of common interest.
At the end of the meeting, the Council discussed the work plan of the Qatari parliamentary friendship groups with the parliaments of friendly countries.
The Speaker laid out his vision for the programme of their action during the next phase.
Meanwhile, the Advisory Council's Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of its Rapporteur Nasser bin Rashid Saria al-Kaabi on Monday.
The committee reviewed a draft law on documentation and decided to continue to review it in the next meeting.
The Internal and External Affairs Committee of the Advisory Council also held yesterday a meeting chaired by its Rapporteur Abdullah bin Fahad bin Ghorab al-Marri.
The committee continued to study the request for public discussion on traffic accidents in Qatar, and decided to continue its review in the next meeting.
