Nepalese Muslim Society Qatar (NMSQ) recently organised a blood donation drive at Hamad Medical Corporation Blood Donor Centre. 
Mohammad Ayub Haq, President of NMSQ, welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Afsar Ali Khan, General Secretary of NMSQ, explained about the health benefits of blood donation. He said that blood donation reduces obesity, risk of cancer and hemochromatosis and damage to liver and pancreas. “It is therapeutic exercise which saves many lives,” he said.
Ramesh Prasad Koirala, Ambassador of Nepal, also attended and took part in the blood donation drive. The drive was attended by other notable personalities and members of NMSQ, including Tej Katuwal, Vice President of NRNA NCC. Around 100 people volunteered for the drive out of which 66 donated the blood. HMC also presented a certificate of appreciation to NMCQ.
