Commercial Bank has offered staff and customers a wide range of rewards and fitness programmes under the newly-launched ‘CBactive’ campaign, which aims to encourage staff and the public to become physically active and lead a healthy lifestyle as part of National Sport Day (NSD).
The newly-launched integrated campaign features a number of physical challenges and competitions for Commercial Bank staff and their families, as well as promotional offers for the bank’s customers.
In the run-up to NSD, Commercial Bank organised the ‘CB Olympics Challenge’ at the bank’s newly-opened onsite gym – CB House of Fitness.
House of Fitness is a fully-equipped mixed gym with a ladies only area, offering employees high-quality facilities led by professional staff who run fitness classes such as yoga, zumba, aerobics and reformer pilates.
The 'Olympics Challenge' required employees to form eight teams and compete against each other to boost team spirit and overall fitness levels.
As part of the campaign, the bank also hosted a fun-filled celebration at the CB Plaza, where employees and their families were encouraged to participate in a variety of athletic and dynamic activities on NSD. The activities were designed to promote the adoption of an active lifestyle, as well as the development of interpersonal skills, such as teamwork, communication, and competition, the bank said in a statement.
Under ‘CBactive’, bank employees are also provided with valuable, personalised tips and strategies to help staff include more physical activities into their busy routines and remind them of the importance of being active in the workspace to improve their overall health and productivity.
The bank also revealed an exclusive bundle of special offers to its customers through 50% discounts and special gym memberships at various fitness and wellbeing centres in Qatar.
As part of the exciting events of the day, 300 lucky customers who participated in the ‘10,000 Steps Challenge’ during the NSD were rewarded with a package of exclusive prizes from the bank’s partners.
Hussein Ali al-Abdulla, EGM, chief marketing officer, said: “Commercial Bank realises the importance of sports in the social and economic development of Qatar, and continues to play an active role in the community by encouraging staff and customers to follow a healthy and active lifestyle to maintain their physical wellbeing by engaging them in various sports activities throughout the year.
“Qatar National Sport Day is a result of His Highness the Amir’s realisation of the vital role that sports play in supporting Qatar’s efforts to diversify its economy and creating a catalyst for positive social change.”
The launch of the ‘CBactive’ campaign comes in celebration of the 2019 NSD, which took place shortly after Qatar’s historic win of the 2019 Asian Cup. Through this, the bank aims to highlight the importance of a healthy society in the overall development and prosperity of the nation.
