For the third consecutive year, Losail Circuit Sports Club celebrated Qatar National Sport Day for ladies and children only, giving them the opportunity to exercise and enjoy the day in an outdoor facility in full privacy.
Windy and chilly conditions did not stop the 3,479 ladies and children from participating in a variety of fitness-focused activities that started at 9am. This year, the hours were extended until 7pm so that participants could enjoy more time on the track under the floodlights.
There was a 15% increase in the attendance compared to previous editions, with 77% Qatari ladies and 27% children participating.
Khalid al-Remaihi, LCSC Vice President and General Manager, was pleased with the attendance. “We are very pleased to see that the number of female participants has increased compared to last year. This is the third year we have organised this event for ladies and children and we try each year to improve the services and activities available. This year, we increased the number of bicycles available for rent so that every lady could have the chance to cycle around the track.” said al-Remaihi.
‘’I would like to extend my gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Qatar Sports for All Federation, and Qatar Cyclists for their continued support in making this a successful event.  I would also like to thank all the suppliers, professionals and volunteers that added to the overall success of this special day,” added al-Remaihi.
Apart from cycling, running or walking around the 5.3km track, ladies were able to take part in a variety of activities at no cost. Activities such as Pound Fitness, Zumba, Martial Arts, Bollywood Dancing, Functional Fitness and Body Basic Fitness were scheduled throughout the day. For those ladies who wanted to have a more relaxed day, there were Express Massages, Yoga Sessions and Health Workshops available as well.
In the afternoon, women who had registered for the Ladies Academy attended a session at the Qatar Motorsports Academy. This session was held in order to help these ladies improve their racing skills & abilities under the guidance of the international Academy instructors.
For the children, there were an array of fun activities planned. There were Zumba sessions, Kids Boot Camp, pedal cars provided by Porsche Qatar, bouncy castles and a dedicated area with sport games such as basketball, football and ping pong. This year we had an exciting new addition of an extreme sports park where the kids could skate board, BMX and use push scooters.
