Cherehzade Pedder emerged victorious in the golf tournament organised by Qatar Golf Lovers at the Education City Golf Course over the weekend. About 40 golfers participated in the tournament which was played on a Strokeplay format. Qatar Golf Lovers also became the first golf society to organise a tournament at the magnificent Education City Golf Course.
Andrea Smilski was declared first runner-up while Surinder Bhagat won the third prize. Sanjay Jain won the ‘closest to pin’ award, Mrityunjay Dhawal won the ‘longest putt’ award and Nathaniel Hayes won the ‘closest to pin on second shot’ award. Naeem Nanji won a special surprise prize.
QGL hosted a prize distribution dinner for all golfers which was attended by Rhys Beecher, director golf operations and Nico-James Visser, manager golf operations of Education City Golf Course who donated and gave away prizes to all the winners.
Meanwhile, QGL bid farewell to Jean-Dominique Lucas who has been an active member of QGL for nine years. On behalf of all members, QGL captain PK Mathew presented a memento to Lucas and wished him all the best for his future endeavours back home in France.
