Nearly 500 Best Buddies Qatar and Shafallah Center members from the ages of 3 to 18 explored various jobs and expressed their creative, artistic, leadership and communication skills and ambitions by participating in fun activities at the soft–opening of KidZania Doha. Participants engaged in 42 educational and entertaining activities which also introduced them to a number of professions as they participated in role-playing that included jobs of doctors, dentists, police officers, actors, singers, intelligence agents, bankers, businesspersons, fire-fighters, engineers, perfumers, scientists and teachers.
Laalei Abu Alfain, Managing Director of Best Buddies Qatar and CEO of Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, commented, “We express gratitude to KidZania Doha for bringing joy, inspiration and fun to our members with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through experiencing the adult jobs. KidZania Doha provided all games accessibility to persons with disabilities equally to persons without disabilities to live through various occupations and entertaining activities. This event is an asset into supporting of our mission to enhance life of people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities through social integration and one-to-one long lasting meaningful friendships.”

KidZania is an interactive kids’ city that combines fun and learning through realistic role-play for children 2-14. Kids independently explore a kid-sized city with over 100 exciting careers.
Each ultra-realistic experience is designed to empower kids, giving them the confidence to be their best selves, and inspiration to be great global citizens.
