Tharu Kalyankarini Sabha-Qatar (TKS) recently organised an event to mark Maghi festival. The festival is a harbinger of longer and relatively warmer days. The event was chaired by Arbindra Kumar Chaudhari, President of TKS. Shiva Bhujel, Chairman of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities-Qatar (NFIN), was the chief guest at the event. The event featured various dance and musical performances.  
The event kicked off with the national anthem of Nepal, which was followed by lighting of the candles by the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. Satya Narayan Chaudary, Co-Treasurer at TKS, welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Manju Chaudhary highlighted about the importance of the festival. Arbinda Kumar Chaudari spoke about the brief history of Tharu community and said that education and awareness programmes are important to mainstream Tharu community. 
Speaking on the occasion, Shiva Bhujel said that co-ordination between various community organisations is necessary to preserve the cultural elements of indigenous and ethnic communities.
Artistes, including Parbesh Chaudhary, Parbati Chaudhary, Rakesh Chaudhary and Nanda Kisor tharu Chaudhari performed at the event. TKS also held its 5th convention under the leadership of Arbindra Kumar. TKS elected its new office bearers, including Sam Lal Chaudary, First Vice Chairman; Hari Lal Mahato, Second Vice Chairman; Bagbati Prasad Chaudary, General Secretary; Santi Chaudary, Secretary; Om Narayan Chaudary, Treasurer; Manju Chaudary, Female Co-ordinator; Ganshyam Chaudary, Cultural Co-ordinator; and Manoj Cahaudary, member of cultural committee. Other committee members, include Arun Kumar Chaudary, Jaya Prakash Chaudary, Naresh Chaudary, Dip Narayan Chaudary, Jaya Narayan Chaudary, Deep Narayan Chaudary, Ram Nanda Chaudary, Chandan Chaudary, Dhani Ram Chaudary, Deepak Chaudary and Dinash Kumar Chaudary.
