An exhilarating mix of equestrian excellence and fun-filled family entertainment will wow spectators at CHI Al Shaqab 2019. The signature event of Al Shaqab, member of Qatar Foundation, CHI Al Shaqab will take place from March 7-9. 
First held in 2013, CHI Al Shaqab is the only equestrian competition of its kind in the Middle East and Asia region to be sanctioned by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), and features Showjumping, Dressage and Para Dressage. The event regularly attracts the best athletes and horses from around the world to Qatar, including Qatar’s Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid al-Thani, Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander, Britain’s Scott Brash and Turkey’s Omer Karaevli.
CHI stands for Concours Hippique International or “Equestrian International Competition”. CHI Al Shaqab 2019, which has Exxon Mobil as the main sponsor, is one of two world class, back-to-back equestrian competitions scheduled to take place at the spectacular Al Shaqab venue. The opening leg of the Global Champions Tour (GCT) 2019 series, also a three-day event, is scheduled to take place from February 28-March 2. Between the end of the LGCT competition and the start of CHI Al Shaqab, the multipurpose venue will continue to keep its doors open to the public, with an exciting Festival Area offering an array of fun and entertainment activities for adults and children alike.

Tickets for CHI Al Shaqab 2019 and the first leg of the Global Champions Tour 2019, including VIP tables, are available on the Al Shaqab website (www.alshaqab.com).  Children under the age of six will enjoy free entry to public areas of both competitions. For the first time, exclusive VIP tables and boxes have been introduced this year to enable corporate organisations to entertain their highly valued clients and special guests to witness and enjoy two world-class equestrian competitions in Qatar.
