The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, will be hosting the ‘Shall I Follow the Trend/Alhabah Projects’ panel discussion on February 10 at the City Centre Rotana Doha Almass Ballroom. 
The initiative forms part of Bedaya Centre’s efforts to support and develop the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector with enriching ideas and proper guidelines to entrepreneurs so that they can be successful in their projects. The aim of the panel discussion is to encourage entrepreneurs not to imitate projects that they consider as successful ventures.
The panel discussion will include participation by businesswoman Najlaa al-Shafei, Kava Koffee co-founder/owner and head barista Ahmad al-Kawari, Booming Solution owner Abdelrahman al-Emadi, and social media influencer Hanin al-Saifi.
The event will shed light on ‘Alhabah Projects’ and it is consequences, and target the multiple projects that have become repetitive in the local market, imitating successful ones, and the necessity to avoid emulating the trending of successful projects. 
It will highlight the main factors that contribute to the success of a business such as planning, passion, know-how, and knowledge. Selecting the field, category, and line of business of projects should be based on studies rather than copying and replicating successful and profitable existing ones.
During the event, speakers will encourage and motivate Qatari entrepreneurs to select and hand-pick their own projects based on sound economic feasibility study and according to the needs of the local market, and not for the purpose of imitating or reproducing a popular idea regardless of the its nature. 
Each entrepreneur willing to enter the market must do thorough research and investigate according to his or her field and dig deep to study of project to ensure its success and improve the quality of services provided to ensure competition within the sector.
Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Sowaidi said, “The panel discussion aims to highlight the importance of careful selection of projects that fit the entrepreneurs and not to the existing successes, where each person has a unique way of thinking that must be exploited to become a distinctive idea leading to starting his or her project. This will ensure its progress and success, which will ultimately contribute to the national economy of the country.
“Through the activity, we seek to draw the attention of entrepreneurs the need to avoid mimicking the successful projects currently being carried out and to find new ideas according to the needs of the Qatari market.”
