Following an extensive evaluation process, Vodafone Qatar announced on Tuesday that it has been re-certified the prestigious ISO 22301:2012 for Business Continuity Management System, demonstrating the company’s commitment to highest levels of reliability and security in its business and technical operations.
The ISO 22301:2012 certification, awarded by the British Standards Institution (BSI), provides an international best practice framework for identifying potential threats, evaluating their impact, and developing capability to minimise the impact of business disruption.
BSI evaluated more than 100 aspects of the business before awarding this certification, including customer service and care, risk assessment, human resources, and vendor governance. This certification applies not only to Vodafone Qatar’s offices but also to retail and franchise outlets across Qatar.
British ambassador Ajay Sharma presented the certificate to Vodafone Qatar CEO Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim al-Thani at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in the presence of Vodafone and BSI executives.
Sheikh Hamad said, “This re-certification demonstrates to customers, partners, and shareholders that Vodafone Qatar continues to successfully implement a strong Business Continuity Management System. We are committed to pioneer digital innovation in Qatar with products and services that customers enjoy reliably, safely and securely.”
Omar Rashid, general manager - Training and Professional Services of BSI, said, “On behalf of our board of directors, I would like to congratulate Vodafone Qatar in achieving ISO 22301:2012 certification for Business Continuity Management.
“I applaud Vodafone for leading by example, with their commitment to achieve compliance to this international standard. Vodafone’s achievement will make a positive difference in developing their objectives whilst also minimising the operational impact of disruptive incidents.”
