Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) yesterday organised a blood donation campaign, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), at the QIB headquarters on Bank Street.
QIB said its blood donation campaign aims to help replenish the supplies of the HMC Blood Bank and to ensure that the blood bank does not face any shortages whenever supplies are needed. The campaign showcases QIB’s continued commitment to engage with the community and strengthen its involvement in initiatives that benefit the
Qatari society.
Customers and employees from all of QIB’s departments at the bank donated blood during the event, which was also attended by QIB Group chief executive officer Bassel Gamal and other QIB senior
executives.
Gamal said, “We are very happy to continue this annual tradition of the QIB Blood Donation Campaign, which aims to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation and its role in saving lives.
“As a leading national institution, we believe that it is our responsibility to contribute to such initiatives that encourage humanitarian co-operation among community members and increase the well-being of the people of Qatar.”
He added: “QIB’s Blood Donation Campaign has found great responsiveness from the bank’s employees and customers, who showed up at Bank Street during the event
hours to donate.
“Without a doubt, this underlines the high values and ethics enjoyed by the citizens and residents of Qatar, as shown through their support for such initiatives. We are very pleased with the turnout and I would like to express my gratitude to every person who
contributed.”
