Alfardan Group has ventured into Qatar’s medical services sector with the launch of Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM).
AMNM will be located at Burj Alfardan in Lusail, and will occupy 11,000sqm over six dedicated floors. The clinic’s medical staff and clinicians will be a specialised team of multinational professionals, including many from the US.
The Group unveiled the new project at a press conference held at Northwestern University in Qatar, which was attended by a representative of HE Qatar’s Minister of Public Health and special guests.
AMNM will offer patients a wide variety of ambulatory care services later this year - a first of its kind in Qatar, the Group has said in a statement.
"This is Alfardan Group’s first investment in the health sector as part of its social responsibility towards Qatar and its vision to develop projects that will contribute to the realisation of Qatar National Vision 2030," the statement noted.
Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine is one of United States’ premier academic health systems, anchored by Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the top-ranked hospitals in the US.
The Northwestern Medicine health system is affiliated to Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, ranked as one of the best research-oriented medical schools.
Omar Hussain Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group, said: “Alfardan Group has built its reputation on offering their clients a lifestyle in keeping with the quality, luxury, and premium services that they value. A sustained focus on meeting those needs and aspirations has seen the company reach tremendous heights of success in business."
He said with the opening of Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine, "our ambition is to enhance Qatar’s medical system and reach global standards in healthcare."
“We are capable of delivering the most advanced integrated healthcare by leveraging our strengths in this venture, Northwestern Medicine, and their expertise in medical services, combined with Alfardan Group’s renowned capacity for service excellence. I am confident that these merits will truly differentiate Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine as a premier healthcare provider,” he noted.
Alfardan Group carried out a rigorous assessment of healthcare systems with the appropriate medical expertise and reputation prior to selecting Northwestern Medicine to provide the guidance, oversight and advice for both the construction and operation of the new facility.
“Northwestern Medicine is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients that is informed by breakthrough research. We are pleased to have the opportunity to assist Alfardan Group in its new project to bring world-class care to Qatar,” said Dean M Harrison, president and chief executive officer, Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.
“With this collaboration with Alfardan Group, we have the unique opportunity to extend our Patients First mission to the Qatari people,” he added.
The "new and valuable addition" to the private healthcare system in Qatar will "complement Qatar’s position in the field of medical tourism in the region", the statement added.
Experienced, high-calibre physicians will provide the best levels of healthcare at the ambulatory care centre in various medical specialties, including ear, nose and throat (ENT), dentistry, dermatology, gastroenterology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, reproductive endocrinology/embryology, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), sleep medicine and executive health.
Alfardan Group’s entry into the medical sector marks the opening of a new chapter in the Group’s success as one of Qatar’s pioneering business leaders for over 60 years, which has seen the Group grow to become one of the premier family-owned conglomerates for several business lines in the region.
The Group stressed that it "continuously pursues growth opportunities" that contribute to the national interest and Qatar National Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and promote sustainable development.
