Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) CEO Yousuf Mohamed al-Jaida will be representing the International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar) in an annual meeting that takes place within the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland from January 22-25.
Al-Jaida will participate in the closed roundtable discussion on international trade and climate titled ‘Global Dialogue on Trade’.
Also attending the dialogue are World Trade Organisation (WTO) director general Roberto Azevedo, ICC secretary general John W H Denton, and Takehiko Matsuo, co-chair for the trade and investment working group in G20 Japan, as well as a number of high level business representatives.
Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, who is the chairman of both Qatar Chamber and ICC Qatar, invited al-Jaida to represent ICC Qatar “based on his knowledge and experience surrounding this importance and relevant topic.” Al-Jaida will be joining other high-level delegates from Qatar attending the Davos event.
ICC works to champion evidence-based policies to shape the multilateral trade and investment agenda as a driver of growth, jobs, and development. The ICC is a leading business voice in the WTO and other international forums, including the G20. The WEF is the International Organisation for Public-Private Cooperation. It is an annual event that is attended by politicians, businessmen, and other high level leaders of society. The forum strives to demonstrate entrepreneurship in the global public interest, while upholding the highest standards of governance and moral and intellectual integrity.
