His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a telephone conversation with Lebanese President General Michel Aoun on Friday. 
They discussed the prominent topics on the agenda of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit that will take place in Beirut on Sunday. The Lebanese president welcomed the participation of His Highness the Amir in the summit. 
They also discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and Lebanon and the means to enhance them in all fields, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of joint interest.
Meanwhile, the meeting for Arab foreign and economy ministers of the socioeconomic preparatory council kicked off in Beirut on Friday.
Qatar participated in the meeting with a high-level delegation consisting of HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi and HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi.
The meeting reviewed the items on the draft agenda of the summit.
Earlier Friday, a closed meeting of the Ministerial Committee on Follow-up and Preparation for the summit was held.
The meeting of permanent representatives and senior officials in the Arab League started on Thursday in preparation for the Arab Economic and Social Development summit. Qatar's Permanent representative to the Arab League, ambassador Ibrahim Abdulaziz al-Sahlawi, headed Qatar's delegation to the meeting.
