President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Maithripala Sirisena met with Qatar’s ambassador to Sri Lanka Dr Rashid bin Shafea al-Marri. During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to President Maithripala Sirisena and to the government and people of Sri Lanka. For his part, the president of Sri Lanka entrusted the ambassador to convey his greetings to His Highness the Amir, and to the people of the State of Qatar. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, ways of supporting and developing them, and a number of issues of common interest.
