After his blistering unbeaten 22 off just seven balls, Murad lifted Warriors Club to an imposing 52-run victory against Feroz Youngsters with his fine bowling in the final of the QCA T20 Cricket Premier Division Tournament.
At the Asian Town Cricket Stadium, Warriors Club outclassed the rivals after amassing 206 for six in 20 overs as man-of-the-final Murad snared three wickets and limited Feroz Youngsters to 154 for seven.
Adnan and Andrey (14 with a six and a four) launched the innings on firm footing, collecting 41 runs in just four overs. At 53, Adnan’s departure for 23 in 15 balls brought together Imal and Tamoor. The two milked 60 runs to set up a solid foundation.
Imal top-scored for Warriors Club with 39 off 31 balls. His innings had three fours and Tamoor blasted two sixes and three boundaries to contribute 34 in 27 balls.
Later, Assad, Imraz and Murad sparkled with bat and took the score past 200-mark with ease. Assad fired a six and three fours in 29, while Imraz and Murad finished undefeated, reeling off 47 runs for the seventh wicket.
Imraz smashed a six and three fours in his 15-ball 29 and Murad clobbered a six and three boundaries in 22, while facing merely seven balls.
Murad’s two wickets in his second over and Imraz derailed the chase of Feroz Youngsters, who could never recover from three down for 21 despite spirited efforts from Inam-Ul-Haq, Imran and Noman.
Haq followed his three-wicket haul with an impressive 45, which contained a six and seven fours. Imran cracked a six and two fours to get 32 in 21 balls and Noman added 31, including two sixes and as many boundaries.
Apart from Murad, Imraz returned figures of two for 23 and Tamoor got one for 28.
The Qatar Cricket Association, under the presidency of Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari, hosted this tournament as a part of its strategy to groom the players and hone the competitive edge of the national teams with a series of events. The final match was attended by QCA Operations manager Manzoor Ahmad, who also distributed the prizes along with other QCA officials, including Gul Khan Jadoon, Syed Hassan Raza, Jehangir, Shamas and umpires coordinator Raja Mohamed Naseem.
