Amir issues law to protect Arabic language

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued Law No 7 of 2019 on the protection of the Arabic language. The law is effective and is to be published in the official gazette.

Amir issues thee decrees

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Monday issued the following decrees on Monday:

1.Decree No 1 of 2019 ratifying a protocol amending certain provisions of the agreement between the governments of Qatar and Azerbaijan on exempting two sates' nationals, who hold diplomatic and special passports, from entry visa requirements, signed in Baku on 8/3/2016.

1.Decree No 2 of 2019 on the ratification of an agreement on the mutual exemption of entry visa between the governments of Qatar and China signed in Beijing on 9/7/2018.

2.Decree No 3 of 2019 ratifying an air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Mexico signed in Mexico City on 24/11/2015.

The decrees shall have the force of law in accordance with Article 68 of the Constitution. The decrees are effective starting from their date of issue and is to be published in the official gazette.

Instruments of ratification

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued on Monday the following the instruments of ratification:

1. Approving a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Kosovo, signed in Doha on July 15, 2018.

2. Approving a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Moldova, signed in Doha on Nov. 27, 2016.

3. Approving a draft agreement between the governments Qatar and El Salvador on regulating the employment of workers from El Salvador in Qatar, signed in Doha on September 9, 2018.

4. Approving a draft memorandum of understanding in the sports field between the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Qatar and general secretariat of sport of Argentina, signed in Buenos Aires on October 5, 2018.

5. Approving on a draft agreement on cancelling visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and private passports between Qatar and Peru, signed in Lima on October 2, 2018.

6. Approving the ratification of an agreement on cancelling visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, private and official passports between the governments of Qatar and Argentina, signed in Buenos Aires on October 5, 2018.

7. Approving the ratification on an agreement between the governments of Qatar and Paraguay on cancelling visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official and private passports, signed in Asuncion on October 3, 2018.
