The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the General Cleanliness Department, has carried out a comprehensive cleaning campaign at Abu Zaluf beach in the Al Shamal area.
In a post on Twitter, the MME requested all beach visitors to dispose of waste properly and not to throw it randomly.
Al Wakrah Municipality's public hygiene section, in co-operation with the General Cleanliness Department at the MME, removed 29,710 tonnes of wastes and provided 80 garbage containers in December last year.
The section also dealt with 1,501 applications for pest control and 156 for rodent control, besides carrying out 574 regular campaigns pertaining to pest and rodent control.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal Municipality's health control section conducted inspection tours at bakeries to ensure that they were using bags that complied with health standards and requirements.
