Katara – the Cultural Village has opened the registration for the “Fath Al Khair 4” voyage, set for the end of June, from Istanbul to different parts of Europe and North Africa, it was announced.
The voyage, organised by Katara in its fourth edition, will finally reach Tunisia after landing at several harbours in Greece, Albania, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, Morocco and Algeria.
According to Katara, the voyage aims to revive the old maritime traditions of Qatari sailors by cruising around the world using traditional dhows and ancient maritime tools.
After the first journey of Fath Al Khair around Arabian Gulf States in 2013, led by Capt Nokhaza Hassan al-Kaabi, Katara decided to launch the second and third editions, which turned out to be successful.
The Katara beach administration also announced that all candidates for this latest voyage must be physically fit.
