The diversion, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented from tomorrow and will be in place for four months.
It will be carried out to facilitate the completion of road works on East Industrial Street, Ashghal has said in a statement.
During the said period, all southbound traffic travelling towards G-Ring Road will be diverted to a newly constructed parallel road with three lanes, as shown on the attached map.
Road users wishing to access Street 47 can make a U-turn and follow the signs to get there directly. Streets 47 to 52 will be accessible by exiting the East Industrial Street southbound carriageway before the Aba Al Seleel Interchange on either Street 51 or 52.
For access to Streets 37 to 46, road users have been advised to turn right onto Street 37 and then take the first left to get on Al Wakalat Street to access the rest of the local roads in the area.
The existing diversion on East Industrial Street northbound lanes will remain in place on Umm Al Seneem Street.
The authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic change. It has requested all road users to abide by the 60kmph speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
